Errors & rate limits
Check the HTTP status and error message before retrying requests.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 400 | Check request fields and model compatibility. |
| 401 | Check the API key and authentication header. |
| 403 | The account or key cannot access this resource. |
| 429 | A rate or usage limit was reached. |
| 502 / 503 | The service is temporarily unavailable. Try again shortly. |
Use bounded retries with backoff for transient failures. Verify your account limits before retrying a rate limit.
